Our own little princess | Fort Worth Weatherford Newborn Photographer | Kelsey Ray Photography

Warning: This is a completely personal share so if you only care about my business work, don’t read any further! 🙂 I have been a newborn photographer for roughly three and a half years, but I still remember my very first newborn session. I remember when my friend asked me if I could do it, I was thrilled, and panicked. I scoured the internet for anything that might help me to be somewhat successful for my first newborn session. Enter Rachel Vanoven Photography. Upon my extensive searching, I came across her very first Newborn Posing Guide. I’m talking about the posing guide before the first eworkshop. For anyone who has been following Rachel for a long time, you might know what I am talking about. It was a detailed posing guide on most of the basic newborn poses, and it was exactly what I needed for that first newborn session. I printed that bad boy out and carried it with me to the newborn session, referring back to it after every pose and shot. It was my lifesaver. I fell in love with Rachel’s work and followed her religiously, wanting to be just like her. When she came out with her newer newborn eworkshop, I was one of the first 20 to buy it and enter into her Facebook group. So, having said all that, you *might* understand my respect and love for all things Rachel Vanoven Photography. Fast forward to almost a year ago when we found out we were expecting our third little bundle. Having not done newborn pictures with the boys, I knew immediately that I was going to have newborn photos done with this new baby. I, of course, wanted Rachel to do them, but the whole her living in Indiana thing seemed to be a problem. I did line up a session with another fabulous newborn photographer since flying Rachel down didn’t seem feasible. Well, about a month before our little one was due, Rachel announced she was going to be in Dallas right around Arleigh’s due date and that anyone in our private group who might need or want a session could contact her. I went crazy. After going back and forth with Rachel and then getting my sweet doctor to agree to an induction if she didn’t come by her due date, which was June 29th, the stars aligned! Miss Arleigh Estellene Capps was born in the early afternoon hours of June 30th, weighing in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 19 inches long, making our family that much sweeter, and securing herself a newborn session with none other than Rachel Vanoven Photography. We are so in love with this little girl. Her brothers think the world of her, as do her daddy and I. I was terrified when we found out we were expecting a girl after two boys, but I can honestly say now I can’t imagine not having this petite little girl in our lives. She is calm and easygoing (after some fixes to her formula!) and just the best little snuggler. We love her more than words can say and having the most beautiful images from Rachel have my heart exploding with love and happiness! Oh and getting to watch my mentor, my newborn photography idol, work with my own sweet girl, yeah that was an AMAZING experience. I have warned my husband of the possibility of more children so that Rachel can photograph them! Yes, it was that wonderful. Some of my absolute favorites are below. The video includes MOST of the newborn session, so enjoy! ** All images from Rachel Vanoven Photography. www.rachelvanoven.com**
