The new studio has been in the works since December, yes DECEMBER! We ran into every kind of weather problem you could imagine, from rain to snow that slowed the process down. The last bricks were laid in April and the very next weekend (Easter weekend), everything was moved out of the old studio and into the new studio. Two days later, the first newborn client walked through the doors and it has been chaos ever since! I rented my old studio for the past two and a half years and while I loved it, I knew I wanted something more permanent. We looked at buying a house in town and turning it into a studio, but ultimately we decided that building a custom studio was the best way to go. I am so glad we took the time to do it the right way and to build it to fit my needs. If you have ever been to the old studio, the new studio setup is very similar with a downstairs seating area, equipped with toys, a couch, tv with AppleTV and a stocked refrigerator. I didn’t get around to getting pictures of this part yet but will add them soon. Downstairs also houses the bathroom and A BATHTUB! This is awesome for those dirty cake smash sessions! The upstairs is the studio area and I love it so! My husband, bless him, has been working on projects for the studio for months now and he is just about done. He built my posing table and my awesome prop shelves. There are just a few small things left to do and new canvases to be ordered and hung, but for the most part, it is finished!
