Is there anything more fun than a good ol’ cake smash? I can’t think of anything much better than being handed a delicious cake and being given free reign to just tear into it and use every part of my body to eat said cake. Funny thing is, one year old’s don’t always agree that this is the best thing ever. Sometimes they are downright scared of the cake and cry and scream until we take the cake away. Sometimes they dive headfirst and we never see them again and then sometimes, sometimes they are just there for the ride, will play with the cake, maybe nibble a couple of bites and then be done. Connor fit into that last category pretty well. He was presented with an adorable cake to smash to pieces. He went right for it, not wasting any time and had a pretty good time making a grand mess, but he wasn’t too keen on actually eating the cake. He found more enjoyment in taking the icing and spreading around the floor and his body like lotion, which is pretty hilarious in itself. So, sometimes they get their cake and eat it too, but most the time, they just like to play. Fun cake smash either way!
I have been photographing Connor since he was in his momma’s belly, which seems like so long ago and also just seems like the other day. Isn’t it funny how time can feel like it is moving so slow and so fast at the same time? I have enjoyed watching him grow and turn into this funny little person with looks that could stop a man in his tracks. I think I could probably do a whole book of just his funny little faces he has given me over the past year. Connor, it has been a pleasure to watch you this year, sweet little man!
