When you are a newborn photographer, maternity sessions become just as much of your job as newborns do. The maternity session is always a favorite of mine because it gives me a chance to meet the couple pre-baby to see how ready and excited they are. Many times when I am meeting with first time parents, I can feel the excitement and nervousness as they prepare for their lives to change, not really knowing what is in store for them. I have said a million times to my clients, “Nobody can prepare you for a baby, no matter what they tell you.” As prepared and ready as you think you are, your life completely and utterly changes the minute that baby is placed in your arms. No book, class or knowledgable friend can prepare you for the feeling of your heart forever being removed from your chest and walking around on the outside. Sean and Maegan are first time parents who are just going to be phenomenal, if maybe a little nervous as first! I can’t wait to see them again in just a few short weeks to welcome their new precious baby.
