I am a newborn photographer, and I hardly ever stray from that title. Bring me all the babies! Newborns, crawlers, sitters and movers, but I usually cut sessions off at the one year mark. I love kids of all ages, but I stay so busy with my newborn work, that I had to make a decision several years ago to pass up older children and family sessions. However, Avery is always the exception to my rules. Her momma and I have known each other for 8 years now, so Avery is like one of my own. She’s sweet, funny, and insanely gorgeous, both inside and out. Anytime I have a chance to photograph her, I jump at the opportunity. So, when Dana told me she wanted to take Avery’s picture in her wedding dress, I showed her a picture of the tulip farms and the rest is history! We loaded up the car with camera gear, a wedding dress, and one excited little girl and hit the road. Almost 2 hours later, we arrived at the tulip farm, which was just amazing to see in person. Rows and rows of beautiful flowers, seriously a photographer’s dream! (Except for all of the people!) We had a blast, spent way too much money of flowers and captured some amazing images of Avery. She absolutely loved the flowers, especially the pink ones. She went from being tired and unhappy to so excited as soon as she saw all of the pretty flowers. She wanted to see every color, and we convinced her to smell them as well! Fun times! I saw just this week that the tulips are just about gone, so I am so glad we were able to make the trip when we did. If you haven’t been, definitely plan to go see them next year!
